Politics in the Workplace

This is a MUST for each of us!

Whether you are in a large corporation,

a small to mid-size  company, or in your own business, organizational politics  plays a  role in your success. Some people go to great lengths to say that they are not political -  do not play politics.  That's because organizational politics traditionally has been viewed as negative
"back stabbing" behaviors.  There is a very positive way to view politics, however, which is critical to understand.    Join us to determine the level  of your

own tendencies in the area of organizational  politics and develop a plan to manage your political equity account.

Women in Business Networking presents...

Niki Barnhill

Secretary of State Office

July Lunch N Learn

"Where Business Starts"

Niki will be presenting on the Business Services Division at the Ohio Secretary of Office.  Topics to be discussed are the improvements made during the administration of Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, the services offered by the division and our new practical program, Better Lives, Better Ohio, which seeks to offer every Ohio citizen a clear picture of the quality of life here in our great state.

Nikima “Niki” Barnhill is the Region 7 Liaison for the Office of the Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, having been appointed to the position in May 2009.  Niki’s region includes the counties of Montgomery, Miami, Preble Darke and Shelby.  Niki holds a B.A. in History from Georgian Court University, Lakewood, NJ and an MPA from the University of Dayton.  Niki’s background includes stints in politics, higher education and even event planning, having served as the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Democratic Party, as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Student Development and Enrollment Management at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio and as Conference Services Coordinator at her alma mater, Georgian Court.  In her spare time, Niki enjoys volunteer work, playing with her dog, cooking, traveling and is a rabid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Mary Bajus

Boundaries ~~

Real Women Set Them!

"It takes great courage to establish personal boundaries in professional  and intimate relationships. Mary will share information about how to become  self aware and how to honor one's self IN THE MOMENT. Our responses in pivotal encounters are defining moments of our lives. When we respond honestly by saying "Yes" when we  really mean yes and "No" when we really  mean no, we affirm  ourselves. Knowing what  we want and need  I n an encounter is key  to using personal power and setting boundaries. Self care and self love can be grown and  strengthened by honoring one's self. Oh, did we say, "we will also have FUN!"

Mary Bajus is right on target in helping women know who they are and how to set boundaries in their business and personal lives.

Please join us in supporting

 Clothes That Work

Their services are provided at no cost to job seekers who need help in dressing appropriately for job interviews or the workplace. Clothes That Work relies greatly upon the generous support of the people and organizations within the Dayton region who donate work appropriate clothing, their time and financial resources.
